Thoughts
Below are my 'submissions' for my own Holga show. I am still processing what I think.
These have no post processing, except the 2nd one which I made black and white on my basic Picasa photo viewing program. I did that because I was surprised how brown the photos appear on the blog and I wanted to see at least one of them in more true b&w.
Am I happy with them? I think they are OK for a first attempt.
I was happy to see my novice film handling didn't ruin anything :)
I like the subject matter because all that is my 'stuff'. I will be examining my composition in time, I know I can do better... I was just dying to use my Holga and didn't plan out my shots too much.
They actually look better on the computer than in real life. In real life the photos look more like regular shots, the distortions don't read as well in print as they do on the screen. And they are a little less brown in real life than they appear here.
The ones that work the best for me are the one of the little house, the hammock and the stroller shots.
The last 2 are just too dark. This concerns me a little as it means I won't be taking many indoor shots as my house is so dark to begin with, that limits what I can shoot.
I will sleep on this and make a plan on what to shoot next.... but I am tempted to do some photoshop... which I was trying to avoid...

Mystery solved
I called B&H to ask where my pictures were. They said that my film actually goes to A&I in CA to be processed. I called them and found out that my film was received by thm on June 1 and was processed but they couldn't read my return address!!!! I wonder what happened to the mailer that my address, written on the outside, became illegible! The lady I talked to said she would mail it today and include the messed up mailer so I can see what happened to it.
Photos are nearing!

Still Waiting, Waiting
This blog should be entitled 'Stalled in Holga Land'. My goodness, since I mailed my film off to B&H I have uploaded, ordered and received digital prints from York Photo!!!
It should be poetic to feel like I am living in a slower age, but all I am is impatient. It is amazing how we adjust to modern conveniences.
I will be emailing you, my special in the know buddies, when they come!
