Thoughts

Below are my 'submissions' for my own Holga show. I am still processing what I think.

These have no post processing, except the 2nd one which I made black and white on my basic Picasa photo viewing program. I did that because I was surprised how brown the photos appear on the blog and I wanted to see at least one of them in more true b&w.

Am I happy with them? I think they are OK for a first attempt.

I was happy to see my novice film handling didn't ruin anything :)

I like the subject matter because all that is my 'stuff'. I will be examining my composition in time, I know I can do better... I was just dying to use my Holga and didn't plan out my shots too much.

They actually look better on the computer than in real life. In real life the photos look more like regular shots, the distortions don't read as well in print as they do on the screen. And they are a little less brown in real life than they appear here.

The ones that work the best for me are the one of the little house, the hammock and the stroller shots.

The last 2 are just too dark. This concerns me a little as it means I won't be taking many indoor shots as my house is so dark to begin with, that limits what I can shoot.

I will sleep on this and make a plan on what to shoot next.... but I am tempted to do some photoshop... which I was trying to avoid...

The blogger clock is wonky... it is currently 1 am, not 3:48am, I am not up THAT late :)

I love the sepia tones. The camera gives the photos a vintage and dreamy feel. This was worth the wait!

Oh, I was going to say the same thing as Shannon...the sepia tone to these pics are great! Definite vintage feel. I think this turned out to be a GREAT first batch!!! Did you happen to figure out why the return addy info wasn't readable? Just curious. ;-)
